The Greenville GOP held their bronze elephant banquet on Friday and Sen. George Allen was the featured speaker. He was great! He also has a lovely wife. Over 350 people were in attendance at the event. (This is about 50-100 more then was at the same type of event in Spartanburg!) Gottcha Rick!
That is not the story I am going to tell you. My story will just be a footnote to that story but it was a big story to me.
I arrived at the banquet early to help setup and get things ready for the big night. When I got out of my car I heard something fall to the ground. I thought it might have been my camera bag but I look down and did not see anything. So, I went on in to the banquet and had a great time.
The next morning I was getting ready to go to the markets when I started looking around for my wallet. Low and behold I could not find it. Then I remember what happened in the parking garage and surmised it must have fallen on the ground in the parking garage.
In a panic I look online at some of my credit cards and I see that nothing has been charged to any of them, what a relief no new charges. I call the Hyatt and they said they had my wallet and they turned it over to the police. I call the Greenville City Police an officer Chandler tells me he has my wallet and it looks as if it has not been rifled through nor had any money been taken out of it. He offers me his cell phone number and tells me to call before I come down and he will meet me there and give me back my wallet.
Long story short, I got my wallet back and it had all of my credit cards in it and all of the money that was in it was still there. I don’t know who found my wallet but, someone did and they turned it in. I want to publicly thank them, The Hyatt and the City of Greenville Police Department. My hats are off to all of you!!!
