It was an exciting time for political junkies over the last week with the threat of the "Constitutional" option being used in the Senate.
I was excited for once to see Republicans have some backbone and stand up for what they believe in. At the same time, I was dissapointed that our own, Sen. Graham, was trying to play both sides of the fence on the issue. Sometimes he said he was going to vote for the nuclear option and other times he said he wasn't. (Check the transcript at CNN tonight.) I was also proud of our new Sen. Jim DeMint who stood his ground and did not back down an inch!
There was a comprise made that neither side is thrilled with but one that we will both have to live with. The deal has been made and there is "Peace in our Time."
The deal was made in Sen. McCain's office. That should do it for any presidential hopes that Sen. McCain ever had. He will never be able to win a Republican primary. Also Sen. Frist is a looser in the deal. He is a leader in the Senate and could not put this deal together? That says something for his leadership skills.
I want to know what you think about "The Deal?" Was it a good deal for Republicans? Who are the winners and who are the loosers in it?
